The first stage of this process normally involves obtaining the proper permits required to have a recycling facility.....

Once this is accomplished, then you can proceed with purchase of your equipment, and the installation, and operation of the business.

To submit your permit application, you need to contact at the State level the proper coordinating agency that handles these permits.

There is always an Agency in charge of this task at the State Level that coordinated all Recycling efforts.

Most often than not, there is a dedicated Agency that handles all Recycling Programs, including but not limited to tires and other waste materials...

Sometimes, it is best to inform these Agencies at the State and Local levels that you are planning on operating a recycling facility, for tires, but possibly for other types of materials...

We have found that a multi-function facility is desired more than a dedicated facility by these Agencies.

The problem in the past, with those groups who have been involved with tire recycling is that many have failed.

This has put a bad taste in the mouth of the various Agencies who coordinate these programs. They get a lot of calls from dreamers, and they are tired of wasting their time.

In essence, they have been dealing with various groups who have not followed through properly, and they are very cautious with new groups who want to submit paperwork for a permitted facility.

As you may know, it can take millions of dollars of investment to implement a recycling facility, and that is why these types of facilities are not on every corner, like McDonalds...

If you do have the ability to implement this type of program, you will join into a very elite, and special group, who wish to perform a recycling function for society.

What we recommend, if possible, is a permit for a full Recycling Plant that can process a wide range of materials...

And other materials...all in the same system if it is designed for that function...

So begin your task by reaching the State Agencies in charge of this process, and at the same time your Local Agencies, to see what they want and what they need to implement this process.

We have found that a full Recycling approach, may be better received than just a single type of application.

However, if this approach complicates the application process, then a single source application for just tire recycling is the direction you should take.

Today in a tire recycling facility you must be able to make a wide range of products from tires, from a fuel chip to a wire free granule to a crumb rubber.

Consideration should made to eventually make value added products from these materials at your plant, such as landscape or playground material or rubber products from the crumb.

Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot are just a few of the interested parties in the green movement that need green products made from recycled materials such as tires.

But the network that buys these product, do not want to even interface with anyone until a plant is in operation. To prove that you have done the hard work. The easy task is selling the recycled products from the plant, contrary to popular belief.

Once you are in operation, all types of buyers will be contacting you and they will be more than willing to seriously discuss what they want and what they will buy.

Again, "No one" will discuss potentials with you until you are operational....a fact of life in today's world.
